Wooden light poles exposed to varying temperatures can contract, causing banding and BannerSaver™ brackets to slip. Bypass readjustment maintenance and use the bolt-through method outlined in the tutorial below to securely affix your BannerSaver™ brackets to wood poles.
Before you begin installation, make sure you have gathered all the proper tools. For the bolt-through installation method on a wood pole you will need the following:
In addition to the proper tools, you will also need the following hardware for bolt-through installation:
Assess the wood pole for electrical wires and cables which could be a safety hazard and obstruct the proper placement of the brackets.
Using the drill with the long auger bit, line up the predrilled hole of the upper mounting bracket and drill completely through the wooden pole.
Install 1 washer, 1 lock washer and 1 nut onto the threaded rod. Next, press the the threaded rod through the upper mounting hole of the bracket and through the recent drilled hole in the wooden pole. Attach 1 washer, 1 lock washer, and 1 nut on the exposed end of the threaded rod. Tighten the nut with the adjustable crescent wrench until it is secure. Repeat this process on the lower mounting hold of the bracket.
Next, repeat the same process for the bottom bracket, being sure to orient the bracket so the spring is on the bottom.
If the bracket appears uneven or twisted, shim and retighten the bolts as necessary for the the perfect support arm alignment and banner presentation.
And that's it! Once properly installed, the bolt-through method delivers brackets that will never slip and is the ideal solution for wooden light pole installation.
